Accessibility statement

Culinary Crew wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people with low vision, people who do not use a mouse, and people who use a screen reader. Below you will find what we have done, what is not finished yet, and how to reach us if something does not work.

What this statement covers

This statement covers the website culinary-crew.nl, including the Dutch pages and the booking module you use to compose a menu and pay a deposit.

We provide an e-commerce service to consumers. That places us under the Dutch implementation act for accessibility requirements for products and services, in force since 28 June 2025, which enacts European Directive (EU) 2019/882. The exemption for microenterprises does not apply to us.

The standard we work to

The standard is EN 301 549, which for websites points to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, level AA. That is the yardstick we measure ourselves against.

How accessible is this site today?

Status: partially compliant. We deliberately do not claim “fully compliant”. Part of WCAG can be checked by software, but a large part cannot: whether an alternative text is accurate, whether the tab order is logical, whether a screen reader conveys the story. That requires testing by people, and that testing is not finished.

Checked and found in order

  • Every input field in every form has a label properly associated with it, so a screen reader announces what you are filling in.
  • All text we could measure meets the 4.5:1 contrast requirement (3:1 for large text) against the background it actually sits on.
  • Every page has a skip link to the content, a clear heading structure with no skipped levels, and a marked main region.
  • Every image has alternative text; decorative images are marked as decorative so they are not read out.
  • The language of each page is set in the code, so a screen reader uses the right pronunciation.
  • Links that open a new window announce that they do.
  • Fields for your name, email address, phone number and company name can be filled in by the browser.
  • You can zoom to at least 200%; we do not block it.
  • Keyboard focus is visible on all buttons, links and fields.

Not yet established

  • A full keyboard and screen reader test (NVDA, VoiceOver) by a person. This is planned.
  • Contrast of text placed over a photograph or video still. Software cannot measure that; the eye can.
  • Whether the booking module can be completed end to end using only a keyboard, including the payment step at our payment provider Mollie.
  • Mollie's own payment screen sits outside our site. We have no control over it.

Known limitations

The atmospheric video on each service page plays automatically. It is entirely silent and carries no information: everything you need to know is present as text on the same page. If you prefer to avoid movement on screen, you can set that in your operating system (“reduce motion”); the site respects that setting.

Run into a problem?

Please tell us. We take every report seriously and aim to reply within five working days, either with a fix or with an honest note about when there will be one. Where you can, mention which page it concerns and what you were trying to do.

If you cannot use the website, you are welcome to simply call us to compose a menu and book. We will go through the options with you by phone and send the confirmation by email. This statement is also available verbally on request.

Not satisfied with our response?

If we cannot resolve it together, you can file a complaint with the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets, which supervises the accessibility of e-commerce services: acm.nl (opens in a new window).

How this statement was prepared

Drawn up on 7 September 2026, based on our own assessment. All pages were checked automatically against the WCAG criteria that can be verified by machine, and contrast was calculated against the actual rendered styling of each page. We will revise this statement once the manual testing is complete, and thereafter whenever the site changes materially.
